Interior Design I students explore career options and professional practices in interior design. Students acquire skills in the design of interior spaces, including selection and application of furnishings, fixtures, equipment, and textiles. Students apply the elements and principles of design, think critically, solve problems, and explore entrepreneurship opportunities within the interior design profession. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
