Artificial Intelligence Fundamentals
This course introduces students to the foundational concepts, applications, and ethical considerations of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies in business and society. Students will explore the evolution and capabilities of AI technologies and applications. Students will examine best practices of AI in terms of its ethical, legal, and social implications. Through hands-on activities and projects, students will develop AI literacy by investigating data and machine learning, prompt engineering, and neural networks. Students will investigate AI trends and evaluate how AI technologies impact various industries, while considering future implications. This course prepares students to participate in an increasingly AI-driven workforce by developing critical thinking skills needed to assess AI solutions and their potential impacts across numerous disciplines. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
