The Virginia Association for Career and Technical Education (Virginia ACTE) recently announced the appointment of Chad Maclin as its next Executive Director. A passionate advocate for Career and Technical Education (CTE) with more than 30 years of experience, Chad brings a unique combination of visionary leadership, deep institutional knowledge, and an unwavering commitment to students, educators, and the future of Virginia’s workforce. Welcome, Chad!
Virginia ACTE also recognized the following Virginia 2026 Excellence Award Winners:
- Administrator of the Year: Dr. Tricia Jacobs, Director of Career and Technical Education and Workforce Development, Alexandria Public Schools
- Teacher of the Year: Allison M. Burns, Early Childhood Education Teacher Susie G. Gibson Science and Technology Center, Bedford County Public Schools
- New Teacher of the Year: Sean Appleby, Culinary Instructor, Marshall Academy, Fairfax County Public Schools
