Identification should include following NEC and industrial standards to

• list the areas where OCPDs may be in residential and commercial facilities
• identify OCPDs from structural plans, appliance wiring diagrams, and available equipment
• differentiate between a short and an overload
• describe a blown fuse after a short and an overload
• select the proper OCPD
• locate and determine type of service equipment.

Identification should also include the difference between branch and feeder circuit.
