Demonstration should include

• draping for chemical services (i.e., applying the towel under and over the cape)
• applying protective cream around the hairline and on the scalp when necessary
• using protective gloves
• referring to the client's record card for pertinent information
• performing a predisposition test (patch test)
• performing a strand test
• using clean towels and implements
• replacing soiled towels with clean towels, if necessary
• rinsing, using the appropriate water temperature
• adhering to manufacturer directions and SDS.
