Course Description:
Students will learn and apply skills in various areas related to the creative process of live production. They will have the opportunity to explore scenic design and construction, lighting design and technology, and live sound reinforcement. Students will learn techniques used by industry professionals through hands-on experiences, and investigate job opportunities and careers in the dynamic and growing industry of live entertainment. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
