- checking the shift, range, and splitter solenoids; shift motors; indicators; speed and range sensors; electronic control units and transmission control units (ECU/TCU); neutral in gear and reverse switches; and wiring harness
- following original equipment manufacturer (OEM) guidelines for proper troubleshooting steps
- test-driving the unit to verify proper operation.
