Application should include

• following manufacturer instructions
• checking the results of the patch test
• cleaning hands and implements
• pre-shampooing the client's hair, if required
• determining the required strength of the developer
• towel-blotting hair and removing tangles
• applying the color
• performing a strand test for the desired results
• rinsing hair and/or shampooing as directed by manufacturer
• removing the stains from the skin with cool water
• reconditioning the hair.
