Performance should include a visual inspection of the following FCAW-G equipment and accessories on a daily basis, in accordance with instructor or employer policy:

• Regulator
• Hoses
• Welding leads (e.g., gun, torch, ground leads)

Process/Skill Questions:

• Why is it important to back the adjustor handle off when the regulator is not in use?
• Why is it important to purge the gas cylinder before installing the regulator on a new cylinder?
• Why is it important to make sure all connections are tight on the work lead and clamp?
