Booting should include
- identifying power-on self-test (POST) codes
- configuring CMOS setup
- recognizing problems with the BIOS/UEFI.
The technician should reset the motherboard (MBD) by clearing non-volatile random-access memory (NVRAM) after installation of any hardware for a clean system boot.
Process/Skill Questions:
- How is a computer booted in safe mode?
- What is NVRAM, and why is it important?
- How does a technician access BIOS/UEFI setup?
