Course Description:
Information Technology in a Global Society is a recognized International Baccalaureate (IB) course. This course is designed to promote an understanding and appreciation of the social significance of information technology and networking as students critically analyze and evaluate the influences and ethical considerations arising from the widespread use of information technology and networking. The course focuses on how information systems and networks are used to process and exchange information for control, analysis, and communications. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
