- assisting with ADL
- facilitating interactions with other patients and staff
- facilitating interactions with visitors, including family members
- preparing flowcharts and records as deemed appropriate by institutional policy
- preparing shift reports
- preparing admission, discharge, and transfer records.

- How might an MHT address a patient's neglect of personal hygiene?
- Why is it important for a patient to take as much responsibility as possible for their own ADLs?
- Many drugs and decreased mobility may decrease bowel motility. What methods might be used to encourage regularity?
- How might the MHT facilitate patient interactions with patients, staff, and their family members?
- What types of flowcharts might be used to record patient information?
- What type of information is gathered upon admission? Upon discharge? Upon transfer to another facility?
- How should a patient’s valuables be handled upon admission to a facility?
