Differentiation should include
- defining cyberbullying and cyber harassment and explaining that both use technology (i.e., Internet, interactive and digital technologies) to harass, embarrass, threaten, or otherwise target another person
- distinguishing between cyberbullying (involves minors) and cyber harassment (involves adults)
- identifying actions that constitute cyberbullying or cyber harassment
- sending content perceived as harmful by messaging, email, and/or social media
- spreading rumors via email or by posting on social networking sites
- posting embarrassing pictures, videos, websites, or fake profiles
- doxxing (i.e., posting the target’s private information, such as home or job address)
- identifying warning signs of someone being cyberbullied or cyber harassed
