Application should include

• following manufacturer specifications
• checking the results of the patch test
• cleaning hands and sanitizing implements
• pre-shampooing the client's hair, if required
• towel blotting the hair and removing tangles
• applying color
• combing the hair color through and adding more, if needed
• performing a strand test for the desired results
• rinsing the hair and/or shampooing as directed by manufacturer
• removing stains from the skin
• reconditioning the hair
• cleaning and sanitizing implements and the work area.
