Course Description:
Students develop conservation competencies and skills through the understanding of environmental concerns. Instructional content includes the care, management, and preservation of soil, air, water, forests, and wildlife. Students identify and discuss prevalent environmental problems and learn methods and practices used to preserve natural resources and maintain a healthy ecology. Teachers incorporate specific environmental concerns and issues common to the local community. This course supports components of biology and chemistry. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.
