Performance should include the following:

• Read manufacturer specifications.
• Examine the scalp.
• Shampoo and rinse thoroughly.
• Remove tangles.
• Part the hair into sections (four or five).
• Wear gloves.
• Apply thio gel or cream.
• Smooth thio gel or cream through the entire head.
• Rinse with tepid water.
• Section the hair into eight or nine sections, subsectioning as you wrap.
• Wrap on the desired rods.
• Place cotton around the hairline.
• Apply thio gel or cream.
• Cover with a plastic cap.
• Process according to manufacturer specifications.
• Take a test curl.
• Rinse the hair again.
• Use prepared neutralizer as directed by the manufacturer.
• Remove the rods.
• Rinse hair with warm water.
