Demonstration should include the following procedures to prevent contamination of the surgery pack:

• Place the surgery pack on a clean, dry surface.
• Remove the tape securing the package.
• Open the first flap away from the body, avoiding contamination.
• Open the side flaps without reaching across the open pack.
• Open the remaining flap towards the body.
