This course will enable students to make informed career and continuing education choices as they transition from school, gain technical skills, and adapt to the workplace. Students will learn ethical behaviors and career-research, job-acquisition, workplace-communication, self-awareness, self-advocacy, customer-service, and life skills. Students explore labor market needs through an applied employment education format. Contextual instruction and student participation in co-curricular career and technical student organization (CTSO) activities will develop leadership, interpersonal, and career skills. High-quality work-based learning (HQWBL) will provide experiential learning opportunities related to students' career goals and/or interests, integrated with instruction, and performed in partnership with local businesses and organizations.

Notes

This course is designed specifically for students with disabilities and shall be limited to an average of 10 students per instructor per class period with no class being more than 12 or up to an average of 12 students per class period with no class being more than 15 where an instructional aide is provided.
