Work-Based Learning Handbook in Progress
In development is Work-Based Learning Handbook: A Practical Guide to Career Choices and Development, designed for Virginia educators and community participants. The new document will be available in print this summer. Training for teachers on how to use the guide is scheduled for the week of August 1 at the Career and Technical Education Professional Development Institute in Richmond. Plans call for making this document available in VERSO.
The purpose of the new publication is to provide consistent statewide guidelines for administering additional work-based learning options, as already exist for Cooperative Education. These additional options are job shadowing, mentoring, internship, and service learning.
