Current News and Information for Vocational Teachers and Administrators across Virginia

VVCRC Home Page Offers New Links

New links to Tech Prep and V-TECS are now in place on the VVCRC home page (http://vvcrc.tec.va.us), and more jumpsites to other educational resources have been added, thanks to Cindy Hoffman, Technology Specialist.

By clicking on Tech Prep in the Center's main menu, viewers can access various types of information about the program in Virginia:

The V-TECS link leads viewers to information on V-TECS products (both on disk and in hard-copy format), uses of V-TECS products, and a listing of V-TECS member state and agencies. This new link may be of particular interest to Virginia vocational educators because of the current statewide initiative giving all school systems access to V-TECS Direct. (See related article, V-TECS Regional Training Gears Up Again for Fall.)

Among new educational jumpsites from the VVCRC jump site are links to resources such as CORD, O*NET, the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the Michigan Center for Career and Technical Education, and the Ohio Agricultural Education Curriculum Materials Service.

Internet Library Resources Available

During the past year, the VVCRC library has acquired many titles related to the Internet and its use in the classroom:

To borrow from the VVCRC lending library, contact Chuck Brooks at 804/261-5075 (fax 804/261-5079; e-mail cbrooks@cteresource.org). As many as six items may be checked out at a time. Books are loaned for one month, audiovisuals for two weeks.
