Center Launches New Online Library Web Page

Are you looking for teaching resources or research to support a new CTE initiative?

Visit the Center’s new library page to search the updated library catalog and access research links of interest to Virginia Career and Technical Education teachers and administrators.

Any visitor may search the online catalog, using the handy Keyword search tool at the top of the left-hand column. Only Virginia public school educators may request library materials online and borrow up to four items at a time for a loan period of four weeks.

Virginia educators may take advantage of many benefits offered in the new library system, including the capabilities to

• register online as a library patron
• request library materials online
• link to library items in specific formats (e.g., videos or compact discs)
• search for the desired item in other Virginia library systems that are compatible with ours (see Search Other Libraries in top menu)
• link to online periodicals
• link to list of selected new books
• access Quick Links to Web bibliographies for CTE-related hot topics
• request additional research assistance from our librarian
• receive library announcements and notices via e-mail.

To view the catalog, visitors need not register as patrons. However, to request library materials online and to borrow items, Virginia public school educators must register in the new system.

To register, please go to our library site and follow the Patron Self-Registration link at the bottom of the left-hand column. Virginia educators may continue to request library materials by phone (804-673-3778), fax (804-673-6798), or e-mail to our library.
