    This statewide Virginia School Boards Association initiative site describes the actions required to earn the rating of “Green School Division.”
  • Greening Schools
    Lots of renewable energy classroom resources for middle and high school; site is being minimally maintained
  • High Performance Green Schools
    National Clearinghouse for Educational Facilities
    In this site, NCEF offers resources on “high performance school facilities, including sustainability and green design issues.”
  • The Green Schools Initiative
    The Green Schools Initiative is an effort to implement green programs in individual schools, school divisions, and state systems. The site offers tools for improving the environmental quality of schools and provides profiles of green schools.
  • Build Green Schools
    U.S. Green Building Council
    This site offers suggestions for what makes green schools better for students; describes local, state, and federal initiatives for green schools; provides information on the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for Schools Rating System; and presents research, current news, and other resources related to green schools.
