Auto Body Repair III Collision and Repair and Painting and Refinishing (Non-Certified) 8681

Suggested Grade Level: 12 (36 weeks, 280 hours)

Prerequisite:  Auto Body Repair II--Painting and Refinishing (Non-Certified) (8680/36 weeks, 280 hours)

This course allows students to further apply the tasks/competencies learned in Auto Body Repair I and II. This course may also be used as a capstone course in which students may perfect their auto body skills and move toward employment in the industry. The cooperative education method is available for this course. Students combine classroom instruction and supervised on-the-job training in an approved position with continuing supervision throughout the school year.

Note: Auto Body Repair III Collision and Repair and Painting and Refinishing (Non-Certified) may be offered as a complement to an existing concentration sequence in any CTE program area. In some instances, where noted, it may be combined with specific courses to create concentration sequences.

As noted in Superintendent’s Memo #106-10 (4-30-2010), this Career and Technical Education (CTE) course must maintain a maximum pupil-to-teacher ratio of 20 students to one teacher, due to safety regulations. The 2010-2012 biennial budget waiver of the teacher-to-pupil ratio staffing requirement does not apply.
