Keyboarding (Secondary) 6151 (co-op not available)

Suggested Grade Levels: 9 or 10 or 11 or 12 (18 weeks)

This course is designed for secondary school students to develop and enhance touch skills for entering alphabetic, numeric, and symbol information on a keyboard. Students compose and produce personal, educational, and professional documents. (Students who can demonstrate touch keyboarding skills may test out and enter into Keyboarding Applications 6153 to develop document preparation skills.) The cooperative education method is available for this course. Students combine classroom instruction and supervised on-the-job training in an approved position with continuing supervision throughout the school year.

Program specialists have identified Keyboarding (Secondary) as a viable option for school divisions to offer for high school credit at the middle school level.
