Center Offering “Stepping Stones to Success” Inservice

On-site workshops are now offered by the CTE Resource Center to present strategies for implementing the instructional practices in “Stepping Stones to Success” I and II.

Stepping Stones to Success Teacher to Teacher provides practical tips and useful information for anyone in the teaching profession. This publication contains excellent resources to implement into instructional practices. User-friendly handouts, a glossary of terms, and a list of useful Web sites are included.

Stepping Stones to Success II Collaboration: Working Together for All Students, the second guide in the series, focuses on the concept of collaboration among teachers, administrators, and parents and includes practical ways to collaborate in both general- and special-education classrooms. This concept is particularly pertinent as teachers work together to meet the unique needs of each student. The guide features special-education and legal terminology, a glossary of terms that can be used on Individual Education Plans (IEP) and throughout the teaching profession, and a list of resources that teachers can access for further assistance.

Both documents are valuable resources for teachers who need fresh ideas and resources to improve not only their classroom but also in their professional careers. Find “Stepping Stones to Success” I and II in Verso under “Across the Board,” where you can download a PDF or order a CD.

Center staff has developed a workshop that can run from one to two hours, depending on the local need. For further information or to schedule a workshop in your school division, email Peggy Watson or call her at 804-673-3778.
